Top 10 Things to do in Rome

As a top tourist destination, Rome, Italy is filled with history, culture, food, and lots of things to do. Here’s a list of things you want to be sure to cross off your list when visiting this iconic city.

10. Climb the Spanish Steps- Admire this romantic grand staircase and great spot to take a break and people watch. It is home to many floral displays and events throughout the year.  

9. Spend a night like a Noble Venetian Family-  You won’t have to travel far to take advantage of all of the beautiful architecture and accommodations. Located in the heart of Rome, the Empire Palace Hotel, opened after a renovation of an ornate 19th century palazzo. Best part? It’s only a 15 minute walk to the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain!

8. Segway through the City- Switch it up from walking and zip around Rome on a segway tour! A classic favorite is one of the ancient city that visits Capitoline Hill, Palazzo dei Conservatori, Palazzo Nuovo, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill.

6. Gaze at the Pantheon- This former Roman temple and now present-day church is an architectural wonder filled with symmetry. Bonus: it’s free to visit!

5. Experience the Nightlife- ..but leave your heels at home! Cobblestone streets and dancing are not the best combo. Party like a true Roman and stay out until dawn depending on how many espresso shots you had that day. There are a plethora of nightclub and bar options throughout Rome.

4. Explore the Colosseum- As one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Colosseum is an inside and out must-see. This engineering wonder has seen some of the most bloody gladiator battles in history.

3. EAT! As much as you can.. you’ll be missing the authentic Italian flavors when you are home. From Roman-style pizza, to native pasta and fresh gelato, Rome has plenty to offer. 1. Toss a coin in the Trevi Fountain- Fallen in love with Rome? Legend has it that those who throw a coin into the famous Trevi Fountain will return to the magical city one day. Don’t forget the coin goes in your right hand and over your left shoulder! Arrivederci!
