Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park is one of those surprises. Located in the more rural state of Goias, the huge park has so much to see and do. Waterfalls pour hundreds of meters off of the rocks into inviting rock pools and rivers. Keep your eyes open for the jungle wildlife as jaguars, toucans, armadillos, and other exotic species roam the park.
Two towns are access points to the park, São Jorge and Alto Paraiso de Goias. Getting there can be tricky and time-consuming, but the end result is totally worth it. The trails in the park are perfectly built to weave through the highlights of the terrain. There always seems to be another waterfall, stream, pool, or lookout point.
