Bula (meaning “hello” or “welcome”) Festival takes place at Nadi from July 11th-18th. For those who want to learn about Fijian culture, Bula is a festival you don’t want to miss. Another festival originated from India is the “Fire Walking Festival.” Men are to prove their bravery and faith by walking barefoot on the scorching hot stone. Also, hiking allows you to know local living in person. There are some local villages you can’t arrive through cars or other transportation. Having the 26th largest exclusive economic zone (Ocean zone), Fiji does not only have good seafood, but it also has abundant diving resorts. There are more than 390 coral species and 1200 fish species. It’s hard to say where is the best diving site in Fiji cause every corner is another world-class coral view. However, “Bligh Waters” is one of the sites you must go to. The area is between the two main islands and the reputation, “soft coral capital of the world,“ just comes from this place. Another famous soft coral site is “Somosomo Strait, Taveuni.” Also, if you want some excitement while diving, you may go to the “Shark Reef Marine Reserve” where you can enjoy the beauty of coral and meet sharks at the same time.
