I founded the travel company Acanela Expeditions at the age of 22. I’ve made it my life mission to discover the world, and empower the people in it, in particular other women. I’ve spent years on the road, traveling to over 120 countries, and have perfected my packing routine, understanding what to bring and what to leave behind. And because I’m often documenting my adventures, it’s important that I have something comfortable yet cute.

You might have noticed that I (@kytrisha) wear dresses in a lot of in my photos. The dresses are made by incredibly talented female artisans in Indonesia and they are my favorite to thing pack and wear!

The people of Indonesia are some of the kindest people, especially the ladies that are artisans. Everyone works so hard and they always wear the most beautiful textiles. Many women in Bali know how to make their own clothes, which is how we learned about a small community of women (co-op) who make dresses out of their homes to sell to foreigners. The average salary in Indonesia is around $280 per month and jobs can be hard to get. One of their largest industries is tourism, so right now a lot of people are turning to other jobs as a source of income like dressmaking.

There have been a lot of you who expressed interest in wanting to purchase dresses. We are collaborating with the talented female artisans on the island of Bali, Indonesia to make these dresses available for pre-order in 10 different patterns. This dress is meant to empower women across the globe. From the design, to the fabric, to the women who wear it… we leave no one behind.

This dress is called the Adventure Dress because it takes up no space in suitcases and is so comfortable that you can wear it 48+ hours on an airplane, or multiple days in a row at home! The dress fits in a 2 by 2 inch spot in your suitcase (you can fit 50 in a carry-on) and weighs less than 4 ounces.

Combining lightweight, high quality, wrinkle-free rayon with beautiful textile designs, this dress is fit for all types of adventures. They come in so many beautiful colors and patterns and can be worn on both formal and casual occasions, whether it’s to a springtime wedding, a fancy company party, or just relaxing at your home.
