Day 1: USA / REYKJAVIK, ICELAND - BLUE LAGOON

Arrival Airport: Arrive at Keflavik International Airport (KEF), where you’ll meet your guide.

Arrival: Welcome to Iceland! Our first stop will be the famed Blue Lagoon, included in your tour package. After two hours of relaxation at the spa, the bus from the same company will take you to Reykjavik. The rest of the day is open for you to explore on your own! Options include a visit to Hallgrímskirkja church, Harpa Concert Hall, Sun Voyage monument, or a stroll along the old town area. In particular, Laugavegur and Skolavordustigur streets should not be missed.

Evening: Stop for dinner at one of the popular eateries in the downtown area, but please remember to get plenty of rest as you’ll start your journey around Iceland in the morning.

Breakfast: Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before your early morning pick up!

Day 3: SOUTH COAST SUMMER - WATERFALLS, GLACIERS, AND BEACHES

Breakfast: Fuel up with a hearty buffet breakfast to prepare for our adventurous day.

The South Coast of Iceland is an amazingly diverse natural environment filled with magnificent must-see landscapes, majestic waterfalls, eye-catching volcanoes, iconic black sand beaches, fast-flowing rivers, iceberg lagoons, and gigantic glaciers.

The second day will take us further east into the Vatnajokull National Park, visiting a breathtaking river canyon and a traditional Icelandic turf church. Then comes the highlight of the tour – the glittering Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach at Jokulsarlon, where enormous ghostly icebergs slowly wander their way to the Atlantic Ocean. You’ll even be able to take a memorable boat trip amongst the bergs too!

Sites visited today will include: Seljalandsfoss & Gljufrabui Waterfalls, Skogafoss & Irafoss Waterfall, Solheimajokull Glacier, Black Beach of Reynisfjara, Vik Village, and more!

The second day of your South Coast summer tour sees us traveling into the Vatnajokull National Park, the largest in Iceland. There are stops at the picturesque seaside village of Vik, the enchanting Fjadrargljufur canyon, the traditional turf church at Hofskirkja, and crowned by the glittering Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach at Jokulsarlon.

Now we come to the highlight of your South Coast adventure – the Diamond Beach, and the Glacier Lagoon at Jokulsarlon.

Day 5: REYKJANES PENINSULA - GELDINGADALUR VOLCANO ERUPTION

Morning: Fuel up with an early breakfast before you continue the adventure.

This first eruption in the Reykjanes Peninsula in about 800 years provides a unique opportunity to study the geologic mysteries of the region and is open for all to enjoy! After being shaken by months of increasingly disruptive earthquakes, including thousands in the past weeks, Iceland’s Reykjanes Peninsula is finally experiencing the volcanic eruption that many geologists suspected was on its way.

The driver and guide will take the group to the start of the hiking route towards the volcano in Geldingadalur. The hike will take approximately 1.5 hours each way, please note that this is an estimated time. The sites around the volcano are always changing due to freely flowing lava and the hiking time can change.

It’s time to say goodbye to our time in Iceland! A representative will pick you up from the hotel and transfer us onward to our international flights home!
