When in Uzbekistan, you'll be introduced to new cultures and customs, and partake in unforgettable hands-on experiences, while learning about Uzbekistan's dense past.
Day 1: Tashkent, Uzbekistan

Flying into Tashkent International Airport (TAS), you will be transferred to your hotel in the city center. Adjusting to the time change, you will enjoy some freetime at the hotel before departing for the city tour in the old part of Tashkent. On this tour you will visit Khazrati Imam Complex, consisting of Kaffall Shashi Mausoleum which was built in the 15th century; Barak-Khan Madrasah built in the 16th century; Muyi-Mubarak Mosque - storehouse of the well-known Koran of Khalif Osman and gold hair of Prophet Muhammad; and finally the CHORSU national oriental bazaar. Before dinner, you'll have the opportunity to explore the new part of Tashkent, where you'll walk along Independence Square, the Amir Temur Statue, and Alisher Navoi Theatre Square. Day 2: Khiva, Uzbekistan

Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the hotel before catching a shuttle at 05:00 to Tashkent International Airport, where you will fly to Urgench. When arriving in Urgench, you'll meet up with your private driver, where you'll have roughly a half an hour drive to Khiva. You'll spend the rest of your day touring the city of Khiva. Khiva is known for its rich architecture and famous landmarks. Visit the Residence of the last Khan (16-17th c.), the Kalta Minor tower, and Tash-Hovli Harem Palace (19th c.) Enjoy the afternoon exploring the city on your own. For dinner, you'll enjoy traditional cuisine at a national Uzbekistan restaurant. Overnight at the hotel. Day 3: Khiva, drive to Bukhara

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before embarking on a trip through long stretches of the Kyzyl-Kum or Red Sands Desert along Caravan road. This trip will take approximately eight hours via car and provides views of a landscape made up of sand dunes, saxaul bushes, and distant mountains. When arriving in Bukhara, you'll enjoy dinner at National Uzbek house with a local family. Accommodation: Kukaldosh Hotel or similar
Day 4: Bukhara, Uzbekistan

Spend the day exploring Central Asia’s most ancient living city. The Old Town in Bukhara has a unified feel, drawn together by a central reflecting pool and plaza. We will explore the many monuments and historically significant places around the city. such as, the Ark Citadel. We then will finish the day with a stop-over at the Dome Bazaar, where people can experience the real Uzbek bargaining process and buy National souvenirs, carpets, etc. From 17:00-18:00 explore the city on your own. Visit national houses, talk to local people, drink green tea on Lyabi Hauz square surrounding the old reflecting pool. Accommodation: Kukaldosh Hotel or similar
Day 5: Gijduvan and Samarkand, Uzbekistan

After enjoying a breakfast at the hotel in Bukhara, depart at 09:00 for the local village of Gijduvan. In Gijduvan, get a feel of what life is like for the locals. Explore the village on your own and try out local cuisines. Partake in a pottery class at an ancient pottery center in the village, where skilled artisans have been passing their talents down for generations. You will have the opportunity to not only purchase the beautiful pottery but sculpt your own dishes as well. Finally, we will meet with our driver to make the three hour drive over to Samarkand. Day 6: Samarkand, Uzbekistan

You will continue exploring glorious Samarkand. Visit Bibi Khanum Mosque, which was built by Tamerlane to be the largest mosque in the Islamic world. You will wander the row of tombs and mausoleums collectively called Shah-i-Zinda, or “place of a living king,” stretching between the present and the past. Pay a visit to Ulug Bek’s Observatory, one of the most advanced observatories of the ancient world. Accommodation: Orient Star Hotel or similar
Day 7: Samarkand and Tashkent, Uzbekistan

Today's highlights include the colorful SIEB National Bazaar, where you will have the opportunity to barter with local vendors and try the famous Samarkand bread, Lepeshka. You will visit Khoja Doniyar Mausoleum – built during the campaign to Iran in the 14-15th centuries. Later, then you will pay visit to a workshop where handcrafted paper is made according to traditions handed down from the 8th-century, when paper-making began in Samarkand. At 17:00 depart to Tashkent by high speed train Afrosiyab. Arriving at Tashkent around 19:10. Accommodation: Daniel Hill Hotel or similar
