Day 2: Rossio, Terreiro do Paço

After breakfast, we set out to explore Lisbon. We will start the day getting to know Rossio Square, officially called Dom Pedro IV Square, it is the nerve centre of Lisbon. Rossio Square is the liveliest part of the city and the meeting point for Lisboners and visitors. In the afternoon, we will visit the Marquês de Pombal Square, which is the centre of modern Lisbon. It is located next to the Park Eduardo VII, at the end of the Liberty Avenue. In the centre of the square stands a monument to the Marquis of Pombal, one of the most emblematic characters in the history of Lisbon and Portugal. We finished the day by the tower of belém and pattern of the discoveries.

Day 3: Castle, Alfama, Sta Apolónia

After breakfast, we set out to explore more of this marvellous city of Lisbon. We start in Alfama , one of the most traditional neighbourhoods in Lisbon. Its narrow streets were residence of fishermen for many years. In the upper part of Alfama, The is one of the best Castle of São Jorge known monuments of Lisbon.
In the afternoon, we will visit the neighbourhood of Santa Apolónia, behind the International Railway Station, is home to several museums, such as the National Tile Museum. On the banks of the Tagus, the old dock s have been transformed into fashionable restaurants. If you walk around the neighbourhood, don't miss the Feira da Ladra, a picturesque market open on Tuesdays and Saturdays in the Santa Clara field.

After breakfast, we invite you to discover the plains and the bucolic life of Alentejo Region. Our knowledgeable driver/guide will drive you through a land of good food and good wine, a land that expands beyond the Tagus River up to th e Algarve hills in immense landscapes of cereal fields, cork oaks, olive grove and grapevines. In the afternoon, you will explore Vila Viçosa, a village full of History, with a rich and enviable heritage created by Man throughout the centuries. It was and still is Nature that provides the raw material for the creation of many different pieces of decorative rocks. The highlight goes to marble, which has long played a fundamental role in the municipality's economy.

Day 5: Sintra, Cascais, Estoril

After breakfast, we will start with the romantic Sintra. This village is a harmonic combination of History and fantasy and it was described as a “glorious Eden” by the British poet Lord Byron, in the 18th century. We will take you on a tour on the gorgeous Palácio Nacional de Sintra. Afterwards, stroll through its medieval streets and admire the special handicraft. You will have free time to explore this marvelous village and our friendly driver/guide can recommend you some imposing monuments and wonderful palaces that worth a visit.
The next stop will be the Roca Cape, the westernmost extent of mainland Portugal, where the land ends and the sea begins. With an impressive view over the beautiful Atlantic Ocean, the crashing waves make th is place even more gorgeous. And on our return to Lisbon, you will appreciate the fishing harbor and the tourist center of Cascais, former summer residence of the Portuguese royal family and nowadays an excellent place for surfing, and the famous Estoril, known for its Casino, the largest in Europe, with attractive gardens.

Day 6: Sesimbra, Serra da Arrábida

After breakfast, we will start with Sesimbra. Sesimbra is one of the finest beach resorts in Portugal. It is adored by the portuguese who flock to the region for their holidays, drawn by the pristine beaches, relaxed atmosphere and outstanding seafood restaurants. Sesimbra is situated on a gorgeous sandy bay that nestles at the base of the Serra da Arrábida hills. Historically Sesimbra was an important fishing town, and today it retains its distintive Portuguese character and relaxed pace of life. Aside from the beautiful beaches, there is a lot to see and do within the Sesimbra region. There is an ancient moorish castle, a busey fishing port, the Serra da Arrábida hills with many hikings and cycling trails, and picturesque coastline for kayaking or boat tours.

Day 7: Coimbra, Aveiro, Porto

We start by heading to Coimbra, the former capital of Portugal and the birthplace of six Portuguese kings. In Coimbra, known as the "City of Students", have the opportunity to visit the University, one of the oldest in Europe, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the baroque Joanine Library, one of the most original and impressive in Europe. We can still appreciate the academic dress of the students of Coimbra and listen to the melodious Fado, sung by them. In the centre of Coimbra, you will have the opportunity to admire the beautiful Coimbra pottery. Afterwards we head towards Aveiro. This coastal city is now home to one of the most dynamic and innovative Portuguese universities, but remains true to its Portuguese roots. Composed of beautiful canals and its moliceiros (small boats with raised bows, once used to collect seaweed, and resembling gondolas), this city is also known as "the little Venice of Portugal". Take the opportunity to stroll through the historic streets and taste the delicious ovos-moles (soft eggs), Aveiro's typical convent sweet! Drive to Porto

After breakfast, we will walk around the colorful city of Porto, where will begin our day by visiting Igreja do Carmo, marvel at the blue tiles that covers the outside of the church and the many surrounding buildings. After, we will pay visit to Livraria Lello, a world-famous bookstore. To end our morning, we will make our way down to Ribeira, a Porto neighborhood that sits along the shores of the Douro River. After lunch, we will take a boat ride on the Douro River. We then will pay visit to Igreja de Sao Francisco, where more beautiful blue tiles line the inside of the cathedral.

The Douro Valley is an outstanding example of a traditional wine-producing region, primarily associated with its fortified Port Wine and, most recently, with its amazing table wines. It is marked by two great mountains of schist that protect it from the Atlantic winds and the superb Douro River and its tributaries draw a scenery of rugged beauty with terraces full of vineyards of white and red grapes. Here you will admire impressive landscapes and taste the typical and delicious wines. This pretty town is immaculately located along the banks of Tâmega River. Appreciate its incredible bridge, the Church of St. Gonçalo and its gorgeous streets. Then we will proceed to Peso da Régua, the center of this beautiful region. Here we will visit a famed Winery (named “Quinta”), where we will learn more about the wine production and taste its pleasant wines.
In the afternoon, we will visit another celebrated Winery, plenty of secrets, History and with outstanding wines. Then our journey will continue along one of the most gorgeous roads in Portugal, side by side with Douro River, to the small village of Pinhão. Here you will have time to explore its wonderful Railway Station, probably the most beautiful station in this country. Its exterior walls are decorated with tile panels, depicting the Port Wine theme.
Day 10: Santiago de Compostela

After breakfast, we will meet with our driver and depart for our two hour journey north to Santiago De Compostela, one of the most important places in Catholicism. Believed by many, the History tells that it is the place, where St. James, one of the twelve Apostles of Christ, is reputedly buried. This charming town is the final line of the “Way of St. James” ("Camino de Santiago") and it is a fantastic mixture of pilgrims, tourists, local people and students. Feel its magic atmosphere and discover the remarkable Cathedral. Stroll through its winding granite streets, with arches, squares and monuments that are impressive examples of Gothic, Neo-Classical, Romanesque and Baroque design. You can also have time to assist the Pilgrim’s Mass.
Day 11: Santiago de Compostela, Return USA

We will enjoy a breakfast at our hotel, before departing Santiago de Compostela Airport (SCQ) for home. After we check out of our hotel we will be picked up by a private driver to travel to the airport where we’ll catch our International flights back home.
