Rio Celeste Waterfall

The Rio Celeste Waterfall is a site one has to see to believe. Meaning Blue River, this magnificent waterfall is quickly becoming one of Costa Rica’s most popular attractions and can be explored when you visit Tenorio Volcano National Park. After a moderate level hike through the national park, you’ll be rewarded with the stunning, vivid turquoise waters. Since the last park admission each day is at 2pm (even though the park is open until 4pm), I would recommend staying in the nearby town of La Fortuna to help you get an earlier start.

La Fortuna Waterfall

Make sure to add this Costa Rica waterfall to your list, as it soars over 200+ feet, in the thick jungle just outside the town of La Fortuna. Pack your swim suit and lunch to enjoy a peaceful picnic by this emerald green pool of water as the water towers down. After you enjoy an easy to moderate 15 minute hike to this photographic location, get your camera out and take all the photos your heart desires! Also, remember to bring $15 for the entrance fee that goes towards conservation efforts. In addition to this waterfall, don’t forget to explore plenty of other outdoor activities nearby from zip lining to walking tours!

Catarata del Toro

One of the more impressive Costa Rican waterfalls pours into an old volcano crater and it is definitely worth the trek to witness this view! Get ready to hike up a few stairs to see this epic landscape in the midst of the jungle near the international airport in San Jose. The Catarata del Toro waterfall is one of the most famous waterfalls in the country of Costa Rica, and for good reason.

La Paz Waterfall Gardens, Cloud Forest

Lastly we have the La Paz Waterfall and Gardens, a very famous waterfall in Costa Rica that should be on your list! This adventure will be one of the more costly items ranging from $28-$44 for entry into the gardens and Nature Park. You’ll get more than just a Costa Rican waterfall, for this price you’ll enjoy numerous attractions including jungle cats, butterflies, frogs, white-faced monkeys, and more! Known as being one of the top eco parks in Costa Rica, add this gem to your list.
