Day 7: Florence to Rome | Colosseum & Roman Forum As you travel to Rome by train, take in the stunning scenery of Tuscany. You’ll arrive in Rome by the early afternoon and have time to explore the ancient city, starting at Capitoline Hill before continuing on to the Palazzo dei Conservatori, Palazzo Nuovo, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill, ending at the famous Colosseum. Day 8: Rome | Vatican & Sistine Chapel Wake up to a traditional Italian breakfast before setting out to explore the world-famous Vatican and St. Peter’s Basilica.
