ban.do Workshop Hosts: Ali and Christina


Ali LaBelle is the Creative Director of Art & Design at ban.do, a lifestyle brand centered around personal growth, color, and fun. Her career at ban.do began in 2012 as a graphic designer and has since stretched to oversee product design, marketing design, and art. She loves ban.do like it’s her very own, but her true passions in life are pasta, travel, and Timothée Chalamet, who doesn’t know who she is yet but she’s working on it.

Christina Winkelmann is the Director of Social Media at ban.do. She prides herself in organically increasing ban.do’s Instagram following from 8k to over 609k and she continues to help grow the company into a global lifestyle brand. Christina has her BA in Film and Media studies from the University of California, Irvine and when she’s not on Instagram, you can find her drinking boba, shooting on film, traveling, and figuring out ways to move to Hawaii.

The intention of this trip is to help you identify and share what truly inspires you! We’ll be covering topics like finding creativity in a new place, identifying your personal aesthetic, shooting and editing photos, and creating a strategy around how you share your trip with others, all while experiencing the culture and beauty that Spain has to offer. Through Q&As, fun assignments, and lots of exploring, Christina and Ali will share their processes for seeking inspiration while traveling and drawing from it in their daily lives.
Day 1: Arrive in Barcelona, Spain:

We’ll start our journey in the beautiful city of Barcelona. Check into our hotel and take the opportunity to explore our surroundings or relax at the hotel. In the evening, gather round for a welcome dinner as we begin to discuss the week ahead. Accommodation: Hotel Margot House or similar
Day 2: Barcelona, Spain

Today we'll explore the local markets and shops in Barcelona. We will make our way to Carrer de La Riera Baixa and Carrer de Tallers, two of the more famous streets for vintage shopping. We will spend the morning wandering among the shops and continue on to La Boqueria for a culinary experience. We will pick up food to take with us for a picnic at Parc de la Ciutadella. Day 3: Barcelona, Spain

Today we will spend most of the day focusing on Gaudí and his work. We will start with a visit to La Sagrada Familia, Antoni Gaudi’s incomplete masterpiece and one of the most distinctive creations of Spain.Next we will make our way to Quadrat d'Or: This area has been named the world's greatest living museum of turn-of-the-century architecture. We will visit Casa Batlló, Casa Mila, and finish the day with exploring Parc Güell. Accommodation:Hotel Margot House or similar
Day 4: Barcelona, Spain

After a delicious breakfast, you will have the opportunity to embark on a tour of Casa Vicens Gaudi, the first house designed by Gaudi now turned museum. We will take thr afternoon to wander the shops and markets in Barcelona. Make our way to Els Encants, Barcelona’s biggest street market and discover everything from antique furniture to clothing and books. Accommodation:Hotel Margot House or similar
Day 5: Cadaques, Spain

This morning, we will pack our bags and catch the train to the quaint beach village, Cadaques. Only a 2 hour 30 minute train ride +1 hour bus ride away from Barcelona- we will take a break from the busyness of Barcelona and spend our final days relaxing on the beach and discovering the small village on the coast. Its implausibly azure-blue waters and piercing sunlight famously drew painters such as Magritte, Matisse, and Picasso: the peninsula’s best-known adopted son is Salvador Dali, who for decades kept a home studio in nearby Portlligat.

Day 6: Cadaques, Spain

This morning we will visit Portlligat, the neighbouring fishing village connected by a stone-walled trail lined with cacti and olive groves. It’s centerpiece is Casa Salvador Dali, the labyrinthine seafront house where the painter lived and worked. A visit here is a must, it’s an escape from reality and a trip into the fascinating world of Salvador Dali. We will spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing by the beach and exploring the quaint costal village. Tonight, we'll celebrate our time in Barcelona with a delightful final dinner at a local restaurant. It’ll be bittersweet as our adventure is coming to an end, but reflect on our favorite memories of the unforgettable experience.
